Colin Clarke

As a DoP with broad experience, I have a reputation for being easy-going, fast, flexible and versatile. I pride myself in making every shot count. I have a passion for lighting, whether making the most from available light, or working with a gaffer and trucks full of lamps./nI own comprehensive Digibeta and Super16 camera channels and have access to all HD and SD formats . I have a personalized lighting kit that will suit most documentary or ‘small space’ drama situations. Also, a KeyWest lightweight dolly and tracks and an ABC TopShot jib. I have developed a simple bungee-assisted, hand-held technique for aerial filming from a helicopter that has been used to good effect on a number of productions. My UK transport is fitted out for a crew of up to four plus equipment./nSince graduating from the National Film & TV School, I have had the good fortune to shoot a large variety of productions, from ‘Fly on the wall’ documentaries to drama, pop promos & commercials, taking me to over 90 countries (including the North Pole and the rain forests of four continents). I have directed one film for Discovery (US) in New Guinea (“Korowai”) and self-directed a number of segments of other directors' productions. In recent years, I have predominantly shot history and archaeological documentary series, often presenter led, as well as actuality, arts, science and drama-docs for British, American & Ausralian TV.
