About Me: Gareth Cousins composes and produces music and sound design for film, television, new media and games.
From 1986 to 1993 Gareth was House Engineer at London’s Abbey Road Studios. Since 1993, Gareth has worked as a freelance Composer, Producer, Engineer or Arranger on a wealth of projects:
His television work includes composing the music for television series' and shows for BBC, ITV, Sky One, Channel Five, UKTV and Discovery channels. He has worked on many commercials, sound design for countless BBC idents, and production of the soundtracks for the Emmy award-winning Merlin, Cleopatra and Dinotopia mini series’.
His film music production credits include the BAFTA and Brit award-winning Notting Hill, Thirteen Days, From Hell, Dark City, Desperate Measures, Lawn Dogs, as co-composer on Titanic Town and Arktos, and composer of The Un-Gone and Magic Hour. His work with Sting on The Mighty received a Golden Globe nomination, and work on Batman Begins led to a Golden Reel nomination.
He has produced and engineered albums, singles and remixes for many artistes including Vanessa Mae, Boyzone, Shania Twain, Ronan Keating, Roger Daltrey, Sid Barratt, Chesney Hawkes, David Essex and Jeff Wayne’s The War Of The Worlds reissue; representing tens of millions of sales around the world. Gareth produced the first songs for the pop string quartet girl band “bond” whose debut album sold over 2 million copies.
